
Dr George Coleman
Rheumatologist, FRACP, MBChB, PGCertCPU
George is a New Zealand trained Consultant Rheumatologist. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in both Rheumatology and General & Acute Care Medicine. He worked as a Registrar in the Christchurch and Wellington Rheumatology teams before returning to Palmerston North as a Rheumatologist in 2022. He has completed postgraduate training with EULAR education in Capillaroscopy and Ultrasound. He is a member of the NZ Rheumatology Association (NZRA) and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR).
George is trained in the diagnosis and management of a range of rheumatological conditions including:
-Rheumatoid arthritis
-Psoriatic arthritis
-Ankylosing spondylitis
-SLE (Lupus)
-Sjögren’s syndrome
-Systemic sclerosis (Scleroderma)
-Reactive arthritis
-Enteropathic (IBD) arthritis
-Crystal arthritis (gout and CPPD)
-PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica)
-Vasculitis (GPA, EPGA, IgA, PAN, Giant Gell Arteritis)
-Myositis
-Raynaud’s and Nailfold Capillaroscopy
-Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) including hEDS
-Undifferentiated joint pain or other undifferentiated inflammatory conditions
-Systemic immunomodulation for non-rheumatic conditions in liaison with given specialist (for example uveitis)
